home in Florida by the ocean and their summer home in Connecticut, where
their four children and six grandchildren reside.
Gene's love for cooking started at the beginning of her married life in her
mother-in-law Rose's kitchen. Rose not only taught Gene how to cook, but
how to feed her family in an economical, efficient and flavorful way.
Gene loves to entertain, and most especially loves having Kevin 16, Lindsay
and Jessica 12, Sarah and Margaret 8, and now Nicholas 5, in the kitchen,
talking, chopping, mixing, and tasting. There is nothing better in the DiRoma
household than the famiglia, e'mangarie, e'more which loosely translated
means, the family, eating, and love! And this tradition is now in it's fifth
generation.
